COLLEGE PARK, MD - December 19, 2024 - IonQ (NYSE: IONQ), an industry leader in the quantum computing and networking industry, today announced its inclusion in the prestigious  “Newsweek Excellence 1000 Index 2025,”, a global ranking that recognizes the most innovative and customer-centric companies across industries who are balancing financial success with ethical practices, social responsibility and global sustainability. This accolade highlights IonQ’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of technology and delivering real-world impact through quantum solutions.

The Newsweek Excellence 1000 Index, developed in collaboration with respected global data partners, rigorously evaluated over 25,000 companies and identified 5,200 that upheld their standards. Of those, 1,000 were selected and recognized for Newsweek’s 2025 list, with IonQ ranking in the top quarter of those recognized – after only 3 years of becoming a public company.

“This recognition is a tremendous honor and a testament to our commitment to not only growing as a company but doing so in responsible, ethical, and sustainable ways,” said Peter Chapman, President and CEO of IonQ. “IonQ is committed to advancing quantum computing and networking technologies to address complex and impactful problems including improving sustainable practices and empowering responsible technology.”

“Corporate success today goes beyond financial performance. The Excellence 1000 Index honors companies that balance strategic growth with a deep commitment to ethics, social responsibility, and sustainability. Together with our partner Best Practice Institute, we are proud to recognize these organizations redefining leadership in the corporate world,” said Nancy Cooper, Global Editor in Chief of Newsweek.

“In an era where narratives often overshadow facts, the Excellence 1000 Index stands as a testament to the importance of verified impact and ethical leadership,” said Louis Carter, CEO of Best Practice Institute. “This year’s honorees exemplify what it means to prioritize innovation, sustainability, and stakeholder value over tradition and superficial metrics. By recognizing these trailblazers, we aim to inspire a new standard for evaluating corporate success—one that values measurable progress and integrity above all.”

This recognition caps a landmark year of tremendous growth for IonQ, as the company has further solidified its position as a leader in quantum computing and networking. In just the past month, IonQ has announced new advanced hybrid quantum computing application with NVIDIA CUDA-Q, enterprise grade IonQ Quantum OS and Hybrid Services suite, its first quantum computer and innovation center in Europe with a record #AQ36 in partnership with QuantumBasel, and recognition by the New York Stock Exchange including an on-site display of IonQ’s ion trap – the first-ever for a quantum computing company.
